The Madhya Pradesh State is the FIRST in the World to produce sub-national Human Development Report. The First report was published in 1995. The Director/Commissioner, Directorate of Institutional Finance, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh is the Project Director for Madhya Pradesh Human Development Reports. Since 1995, four such reports  have been published i.e. 1995, 1998, 2002 and 2007.
