This is the 17th
edition of the State Credit Plan brought out by this Directorate. The
credit plan normally reflects the directions in which new investments
are infused in the districts. There have been many mismatches between Departmental
action plans based on budgetary allocations drafted at the apex level
and the Bankers Credit Plans based on their own assessment at
grass-root level. As such, there was an urgent need to dovetail the
plans of Government Departments with District Credit Plans of Banks
for making them meaningful, need-based and realistic.
It was with this objective in view
that, since 1992-93, we in this Directorate have been communicating to
the districts the plan projections of various Departments that operate
Government sponsored poverty alleviation/ employment-oriented programmes with Institutional Finance support.
The document has been put together by the staff of this Directorate.
In particular, preparation of this document was made possible due to
the continuous and untiring efforts of Shri S.S. Ahmad, OSD and Shri Gopal Swaroop Dubey, Programmer, and I duly
acknowledge their effort.
Your valuable suggestions to improve
our efforts in future are welcome. |
